This is version 1.0 of a class file for KTH theses.

It requires a version of LaTeX 2e from 95/06/01 or later. Since it
uses a PostScript file for the KTH logo, it also needs dvips, or some
similar program, to generate a PostScript file for printing. Previewing
can be done without dvips, though. There are also files included which
can be used to produce cropmarks when printing with dvips.

The following files should go into a directory searched by latex:

  kthbk9.clo
  kthbk10.clo
  kthbk11.clo
  kthbk12.clo
  kthcover.cls
  ktheorem.sty
  kthesis.cls
  kthsats.sty
  kthspik.cls
  kthtext.eps
  kthtext.pdf

The following files should go into a directory searched by dvips:

  kthpress.pro
  s5crop.pro
  g5crop.pro
  spikcrop.pro
  gpikcrop.pro

The contents of the file sizes.cfg should be appended to config.ps if
one wants to generate PostScript files with the paper size S5 or
G5. Normally, this is needed only if one wants to convert the
PostScript file to PDF. To get crop marks for S5 or G5 on an A4 paper,
use the switch "-h s5crop.pro" or "-h g5crop.pro", respectively, when
invoking dvips. The get cropmarks for the so called "spikblad", use
the switch "-h spikcrop.pro" or "-h gpikcrop.pro".

To position the page in such a way suitable for the KTH Press (aka
Hgskoletryckeriet), use the switch "-h kthpress.pro" to dvips. Be
sure to explicitly tell the staff at KTH Press that they should not
adjust the position of the text area themselves, but just print out
the document and cut the pages. Also study the proofs provided by
KTH Press very carefully, especially all figures. The easiest path
to success with KTH Press seems to be to send the body of the text
electronically, but the cover printed out on three or four separate
sheets of paper.

There is, unfortunately, not much documentation yet. The files
example1.tex, example2.tex, and example3.tex serve as rudimentary
skeletons. They produce the main text, ``spikblad'', and cover,
respectively.

Bug reports, questions and comments should be sent by e-mail to
